C'est La Vie

The popular French phrase means "such is life". Lately that phrase has meant a lot to me, because I've been hurt and confused. My heart hurts, but everything heals with God and time. I tend to snap and try to hurt people when they hurt me because I don't want to feel pain, but that's not what God wants us to do! He wants us to love even through the pain, even through the trial, the suffering.

I've learned that you can't keep every door open, as a backup, because it only ruins things. God is a god of plan A, and plan A only. Not plan A AND B. nope, just plan A. So we have to accept it even if it's not what we want right then. Remember these things:
•God heals

•Time heals wounds

•Sometimes we have to have one door shut to see another one open, or so we can step back and take a look at that door with more clarity so it can open later on in life.

....and finally •C'est la vie

Such is life. It hurts, but don't cry long. Move on, because your GODS daughter or son, and He loves you more than anything else. He doesn't want you to feel pain, but if we do we know we can rely on Him to get us through.

Such is life.

Golden Calves

Tonight in our nightly reading, we were taken to Exodus 34, to the account of Aaron making the golden calf for the Israelites when they asked. They felt left alone by Moses, abandoned, and decided they needed something to worship & take Gods place, so they demanded Aaron make them the image of the calf. Sounds pure right? Wrong!!! Read the Ten Commandments: you shall have no other gods before me. The Israelites felt abandoned, and it's easy for us to feel that way too. Like God has left us, like He doesn't care anymore, when really it's our fault. God never leaves us, WE leave Him. We neglect reading our bibles, we neglect to pray, then we blame God for "leaving us" and we start having other idols. Not necessarily golden calves, but money, sex, video games, cars, women/men, music, ANYTHING that takes our attention more than God.

Read that chapter in Exodus, that account, and see how it applies in your life. Remember, God never leaves us alone, we're the ones who leave. Don't make yourself an idol, see that God IS enough.

Days like these...

It’s days like these that make me want to pull my hair out & stop blogging altogether!! But I figure this blog might be helping someone somewhere learn more about Christ, and that’s enough to keep me going. God’s enough to keep me going ;) He sure is faithful even when we are not!!! What a great God we serve huh?
