C'est La Vie

The popular French phrase means "such is life". Lately that phrase has meant a lot to me, because I've been hurt and confused. My heart hurts, but everything heals with God and time. I tend to snap and try to hurt people when they hurt me because I don't want to feel pain, but that's not what God wants us to do! He wants us to love even through the pain, even through the trial, the suffering.

I've learned that you can't keep every door open, as a backup, because it only ruins things. God is a god of plan A, and plan A only. Not plan A AND B. nope, just plan A. So we have to accept it even if it's not what we want right then. Remember these things:
•God heals

•Time heals wounds

•Sometimes we have to have one door shut to see another one open, or so we can step back and take a look at that door with more clarity so it can open later on in life.

....and finally •C'est la vie

Such is life. It hurts, but don't cry long. Move on, because your GODS daughter or son, and He loves you more than anything else. He doesn't want you to feel pain, but if we do we know we can rely on Him to get us through.

Such is life.

Golden Calves

Tonight in our nightly reading, we were taken to Exodus 34, to the account of Aaron making the golden calf for the Israelites when they asked. They felt left alone by Moses, abandoned, and decided they needed something to worship & take Gods place, so they demanded Aaron make them the image of the calf. Sounds pure right? Wrong!!! Read the Ten Commandments: you shall have no other gods before me. The Israelites felt abandoned, and it's easy for us to feel that way too. Like God has left us, like He doesn't care anymore, when really it's our fault. God never leaves us, WE leave Him. We neglect reading our bibles, we neglect to pray, then we blame God for "leaving us" and we start having other idols. Not necessarily golden calves, but money, sex, video games, cars, women/men, music, ANYTHING that takes our attention more than God.

Read that chapter in Exodus, that account, and see how it applies in your life. Remember, God never leaves us alone, we're the ones who leave. Don't make yourself an idol, see that God IS enough.

Days like these...

It’s days like these that make me want to pull my hair out & stop blogging altogether!! But I figure this blog might be helping someone somewhere learn more about Christ, and that’s enough to keep me going. God’s enough to keep me going ;) He sure is faithful even when we are not!!! What a great God we serve huh?

The Model of Christian Speech

This Sunday was different than most. I went to a different church, just for fun, and man did I get spoken to!! God really spanked me and boy, it hurt. The pastor was teaching on the tongue and went to JAMES 3:1-10 (go read it!) all about how the tongue can be used to bless, but it can also be used to curse. We have to be careful what we're saying, and HOW we're saying it! Words can be hurtful, and cutting. Wouldn't we rather uplift someone with our words?

Here's some Helpful Hints about how to correctly model the Christian speech:

#1: Pray!!!

#2: Think before we speak: don't just say the first thing that comes to mind. *Proverbs 15:28*

#3: Don't dominate the conversation: how much time are we really talking during the conversation? Who speaks most, is at a monologue or a dialogue? *Proverbs 10:19*

#4: Speak gently from a tender heart: a loud voice level has nothing to do with how the message will be received. Speak softly, you might get through more!! *Proverbs 16:24*

#5: Be an ACTIVE listener! Pay attention when someone is talking to you, don't be distracted & thinking of every other person and every other thing you have to see/do. Really listen to what they have to say, it's important. *James 1:19*

#6: Don't interrupt others when they're speaking: it's rather annoying to get interrupted when you're in the middle of a story, right? So stop doing it to other people!! *Proverbs 18:13*

Okay, so ask yourself this question. How am I doing with this?

If the answer is "not so good", then I would pray about it, and confess to God. Then go to that person and apologize for being rude in your conversation. Remember, sticks and stones may break my bones...but words will always kill me.

Be a godly listener and a godly speaker!

How I missed you

Well bloggers, I have missed you all so! it's been a long time, I've been busy and God has done a lot in my life lately!! He's been showing me quite a lot about myself (and I've been trying to listen;)
I've found joy again, though I lost it for awhile, God renewed it! I also found a best friend where I never thought I would. God sure is full of blessings eh?

Speaking of 'eh', Canada! Here I come! Look out cause I'm on my way soon, to see your wonderful country. I can't wait. God blessed my family & I with a vacation so we're going to take it...God does give us rests you know. Yes, during the rest period we still follow Him, but He gives us chances to relax & take a breather.

Try taking a breather today, don't get bogged down.

P31 Woman

Question.  Am I a proverbs 31 woman? Are you? Are any of us? It's such a good thing to live by!! She's caring. Thoughtful. Kind. Wise. Knows how to manage a house. And much, much more. Proverbs 31 has so much advice, and good qualities to live by. My favorite verse in particular is 31:30: Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Isn't that great?! Beauty is VAIN (King James version) and how true is that? Beauty passes with time, but wisdom and fear of the Lord is forever. We want to be praised for our beauty WITHIN, and not for the beauty outside.

Challenge: be a proverbs 31 lady.
Hard to do, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) right? Pray about it!! Let God show you and make you the woman He wants you/us to be.

Why not give it up? I don't really like it anyways....

Face it. We all find it a bit scary to give things up for God, but it's not so bad when we give up things we didn't really like in the first place right? Maybe we didn't really like listening to that music anyways, so when we got convicted to give something up for God, that's immediately what we think of!  Well, what about giving up something for God that IS something we enjoy? Like, a certain magazine, or a social network like Twitter or Face Book.  IT'S NOT EASY!!!!!!!!!!! I recently gave up my Face Book, because I realized I spent too much time on it, instead of spending time with my Jesus.  I'll admit, I had HUGE withdrawals. But I'm sooo much happier without it because I have way more time, and  I'm going to try to use that time to be in The Word.  That's not easy for me, I'm not the best at getting in the Word but I'm certainly going to try now that the distraction of social networking is completely gone.  Try it with me.  It can be with anything you want; let me know about it and your daily struggles as you learn to let go of distractions.  God wants us to give Him our all, and lets try to get in the Word daily, and really focus on Him instead of those things that get in our way.

Give it up. Let it go. Give it to Him. Let Him have our heart completely and utterly.

11:11

Superstitious? Some people are, and some people actually think their wishes come true if they wish it exactly at 11:11. I'm not one of those people, but I do make a 'wish' when those numbers show up on the clock, because I'm a hopeless romantic :) the thing for me is, my 'wishes' turn into prayers, usually starting with a 'please Father' and a 'thanks God' after. Though we may want wishes to come true, we want our prince charming and world peace, the fact is they don't. Only God answers prayers and makes them come true, but I have nothing against having a little fun and believing in that wish.

After all, where are we if we don't believe?

Ministries at a stall?

Hey everyone,

New topic. Ministries stuck at a stand still. Ever happen to you? It happens many times to churches and/or individuals, where you get excited to start a ministry and can't wait to serve God, and then something happens and it seems like you're stuck in super glue! Not moving and getting nowhere. But don't fret my dear! God moves in mysterious ways, so watch out, this stand still may be used to further grow your relationship with Jesus. Trials come and they're for a reason; so don't worry, God will use you for mighty things if you believe it and if you let Him. PRAY!!!!!!

Patience is a Virtue

Well bloggers, Sunday mornings really make me realize how little patience I have!! Which isn't godly at all but sadly my flesh comes out. Don't get me wrong, I love little kids, but I really get frustrated when they're little kids who don't listen!! I think parents should make a conscious effort to discipline their children, and to watch where they are in the church, instead of just letting them roam about and be unruly. That's my personal opinion, but trust me, I love kids and I look forward to having kids of my own. Please pray for patience for me today, and I hope you all have patience as well for whatever problem you're encountering. Don't forget 1 Corinthians 13:4!!! Love is patient, love is kind.
